The Community Foundation of North Louisiana

St. Luke’s Chosen for $10,000 Award by the Shreveport/Bossier Community Leaders of the Community Foundation of North Louisiana.

We’re very proud to announce that St. Luke’s Episcopal Mobile Ministry has just been chosen out of 45 Northwest Louisiana non-profits to receive grant funds via The Community Foundation of North Louisiana Community Leaders program! This group wants to make a positive difference in our community. They chose St. Luke’s to help tell our story and raise $10,000 with us, which will allow us to help more people.

Since 2007, the Foundation’s Shreveport/Bossier Community Leaders program has been helping potential community leaders learn how to be successful board members of non-profit organizations through workshops and their participation in The Change Fund. Each year a new set of potential leaders is given the goal of choosing a worthy non-profit and fundraising at least $10,000 for it.

This year’s class evaluated 45 grant applications and then presentations by the non-profit finalists. Having chosen St. Luke’s Episcopal Mobile Ministry, the Community Leaders program will now be working hard to publicize the good works that St. Luke’s has been doing and explain how donors can help St. Luke’s expand the depth and breadth of our health care community outreach.

All monies raised by the Community Leaders will go directly to St. Luke’s, which intends to visit additional local shelters and increase the frequency of visits, to provide assistance obtaining medication, and to offer more comprehensive case management to our community’s homeless and those who are housing unstable. It’s been demonstrated that this approach makes good use of health care dollars.

We are deeply grateful for the recognition by the Shreveport/Bossier Community Leaders program, a program of the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations, and made possible by the Community Foundation, Capital One Bank and the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation.

We invite you to support St. Luke’s continued actions to improve health care in our community by donating to The 2016 Change Fund at www.cfnla.org/CommunityLeaders or by donating directly on this page. We will continue to serve our community to the best of our abilities and would like to enlist your support, either through volunteering, or with monetary contributions. You can view a short video.
